About the Journal

A multidisciplinary journal covering the various areas of the natural and applied sciences.

ACTA MANILANA publishes full papers, short communications and review papers. Prior to publication, the papers are reviewed by at least two evaluators who make recommendation on the acceptance of the paper.

  • Full papers report a new development of value in a particular field of study. Its acceptance of publication is based on the quality of scientific content and its contribution to existing knowledge.
  • Short communications present preliminary findings that are of immediate interest and high originality.
  • Review papers consolidate the significant, up-to-date and relevant advances in a particular area of study.

History: Through the Years…

Fifty Years ago in 1965, ACTA MANILANA launched its first issue. It was established to be the official publication of the University of Santo Tomas Research Center which was then on its third year of existence. Its mandate was to provide a venue for the publication of research work done in the Research Center.
